Job Summary:
As a member of Hardware team the senior controls engineer will provide complete automated solutions specializing in PLC, custom-built panels, HMI, Actuators, sensors, servo motors and other devices. They will work tightly with the software and materials teams to ensure that our systems are tightly integrated, reliable, safe, and easy to use.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for automation and controls system design, specifications, programming, simulation, testing, as well as start-up assistance. Develop solution based control systems Develop and implement electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. Develop PLC, motion systems, sensing systems, and HMI programs and application?s Design, assemble, test, troubleshoot and support prototypes of automation and test equipment Resolve operational problems related to projects Maintain and update controls documentation, drawings, schematics Providing regular updates on the status of tasks Maintain accurate and complete project records; document progress in detailed reports which indicate verification and validation of designs and tests Interface with multiple functional disciplines for design input, requirements and potential solutions to problems Provide input to project schedules, timelines and resource requirements for completion of assigned design work Actively participate in the development of engineering and quality processes and recommend process improvements. Manage Contractors as necessary
Required Skills:
Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system and its application Proven experience in development and commissioning of control system for complex electromechanical machinery Experience with PLC, HMI, I/O sensors, servo motors, step motor, drivers Experience with PLC Programming Knowledge in the use of networking components Hands on experience with Electrical design software Hands on experience with soldering, wiring, and cabling Experience with instrumentation and equipment calibration Knowledgeable of electrical design and machine standards (NFPA, NEC, ANSI, ISO, etc.) Previous experience with computer programming using C, Java, or Python The ability to assess priorities and determine a course of action with minimal day-to-day supervision, as well as the ability to anticipate, recognize, and respond effectively to changes which affect project plans. Executing on complex tasks on tight deadlines Apply problem-solving skills and execute solutions to difficult problems independently
Preferred Skills:
Previous work experience in the development of manufacturing equipment / machinery Previous work experience in 2d /3d printing industry Self-motivated Team player Strong collaboration skills Effective problem solving capabilities
Bachelor s Degree in electrical engineering
3-5 years experience as a Controls or Automation Engineer in an innovative and dynamic environment
