We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Team Leader/Phlebotomist in our Somerville practice. The Team Leader provides direction and support to staff to assure departmental effectiveness and efficiency. You will orient and train new staff, provide input into evaluating performance and may act as supervisor in absence of actual supervisor. You must jave the ability to exhibit a high level of technical skill and function as resource for other phlebotomists as well as fill in for staff as needed to provide appropriate support of the department. The Team Leader takes the lead role in ensuring department workflow is of a high quality and may act as point of contact for patient and clinician inquiries, problems and complaints, referring complex issues to appropriate resources. Other responsibilities may include scheduling, timesheet and payroll issues for staff. Education: U.S. High School diploma or GED or non-U.S. High School diploma deemed equivalent after evaluation of the diploma by either Center for Educational Documentation (CED) or North American Education Group (NAEG). Skills and Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience as a phlebotomist required, with lead/supervisory experience preferred. Strong interpersonal skills needed with the ability to interact effectively with patients and medical professionals. Sound judgment and the ability to multi-task and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and certification for CPR preferred.
